Xantrex Expands the Freedom Series with New Sine Wave Inverters

Burnaby, BC, Tuesday, August 01, 2017

BURNABY, BRITISH COLUMBIA, CANADA, August 1, 2017 - Xantrex has expanded its popular Freedom series with the launch of four new models. The new series called Freedom X marks the ongoing evolution of the Freedom inverter first launched in 1992.

“The Freedom name is synonymous with quality and reliability in multiple industries including truck, utility, recreational vehicle and marine. The Freedom 458, Freedom HF/HFS and Freedom SW inverter/chargers set new benchmarks and have been installed in wide range of recreational and commercial applications,” said Richard Gaudet, Vice President of Xantrex business at Schneider Electric.

The four new models – 2 inverters and 2 inverters with built-in charger offer a multitude of features including extended surge for motor loads, faster transfer time for quick transition from shore to battery, huge wiring bay with quick connect AC terminals for fast & easy wiring and a beautiful onboard LED display.  Its lightweight, durable design meets stringent requirements of the marine supplement of UL for shock and vibration. This coupled with improved climate protection means the inverter will survive the elements and provide full output in temperatures ranging from -4 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit. All models include internal 30A transfer switch and can be hardwired or installed with the optional GFCI outlet.

The RV OEM version launched at the National RV tradeshow last year has become a runaway success with leading RV manufacturers including Forest River, Highland Ridge, KZ, Keystone and Jayco already installing in RVs equipped with residential AC fridge.

In trucking applications, fleets and contractors can choose and set their preferred low battery shutdown voltage to maximize 120Vac electronics run time without sacrificing reliable engine start up. The wide input voltage range, up to 18Vdc is designed for modern vehicles equipped with high voltage alternators. The Ignition control function which controls inverter operation via vehicle’s ignition circuit or a manually operated switch enables efficient use of battery power.

Inverters with built-in charger feature power share, power factor correction, temperature compensation, dead battery charging and custom charge algorithms for Li-Ion applications. All models meet UL458 regulatory standards.
