When you’re talking about Ambulances, Military Trucks, or concession trucks, you’re talking about a special breed of vehicle. These ‘specialty’ vehicles have one thing in common: They each have an electrical system that was custom designed for a particular need. Those designs often include AC power furnished by Xantrex.

Many devices will run more reliably on constant AC power than on variable DC power. Xantrex inverters provide that AC power regardless of the vehicles battery voltage. This allows for a robust and reliable electrical system in a vehicle that cannot afford down time.

These devices, including the inverter, must be able to work…period. They cannot fail, even in the harshest of environments. Vendors, EMTs or members of the armed forces need to know that the Xantrex product has their back – whether it’s powering the cash machine on a concession truck selling snow-cones to kids at a fair, a warming blanket in an ambulance racing through the city streets, or a military transport doing things above my security clearance.

In the ambulance illustration above, a Xantrex inverter is installed in an ambulance to supply constant power to sensitive medical equipment when the vehicle is in transit. Our inverters draw power either from the starting battery or an auxiliary battery bank. Several built-in protection features ensure that loads connected to the inverter do not damage the battery or drop the voltage too low.

Depending on the configuration, batteries are recharged either by the vehicle’s alternator, or by plugging in to utility power after returning to station.
