The local NHL team (National Hockey League) wanted to create a mobile device that brings excitement for its fans. With that in mind, HollyNorth helped design a mock Zamboni – affectionately called Fanboni – from a modified golf cart, to entertain and interact with the fans during the game and tailgate parties. The fanboni was equipped with an organ keyboard, simulated organ pipes and an air compressor to power air cannons that shoot out giveaway t-shirts. In order to power the electronics on the Fanboni, the inverter/charger not only needs to be light and compact, but also powerful and reliable. That is why HollyNorth picked Xantrex’s Freedom HF for the job.
Freedom HF inverter/charger provides 1000-watt continuous AC power, 55-amp charger and several protection features. Beside the 0.5 horsepower air compressor, Freedom HF also powers other electronics like stereos and cell phone charger while fitting into a small compartment in the golf cart. In addition, Will McDonald and Mike Kaerne, who installed the inverter/charger, were pleased with how easy the installation was. With their professional skills and Freedom HF’s quick-connect AC terminals, they were able to install the inverter/charger within a few minutes. All of these make Freedom HF the perfect choice for the Fanboni project and one of the leading inverter/chargers in the market.
