Compact, Efficient, and Reliable Power Solution for Marine and Mobile Applications.
Costa Mesa, CA – November 13, 2024 –Xantrex, a leading global provider of mobile and marine power solutions under Mission Critical Electronics (MCE), today announces the release of its new TRUEcharge3 battery charger, an advanced replacement for the widely used TRUEcharge2 series. Engineered to offer enhanced functionality, including lithium-ion battery compatibility, the TRUEcharge3 charger ensures reliable power management for both 12V and 24V systems across a broad range of applications.
TRUEcharge3 builds on the reputation of its predecessor with a series of technical improvements and design optimizations. It supports flooded, gel, AGM, and lithium-ion batteries, making it adaptable to a variety of energy systems. The charger’s design includes 2-stage or 3-stage charging options to promote battery longevity, and its ultra-compact form factor allows for installation in space-limited environments. These features make it an ideal choice for marine vessels and mobile vehicles, where efficient space utilization is essential.
An important addition to the TRUEcharge3 is Quiet Mode, which significantly reduces fan noise, making the charger suitable for use during quieter periods such as overnight operation. The charger also incorporates power factor correction (PFC) technology, which minimizes interference while optimizing power efficiency. This ensures the charger reduces the likelihood of overloading shore power systems, allowing users to maintain other electrical devices without disruption.
TRUEcharge3 is designed to handle various global power conditions, accepting a wide range of voltages (90-265 V) and frequencies (47-63 Hz), making it ideal for users who frequently travel or operate in areas with poor-quality power. The charger also features reverse polarity protection, ensuring safe installation, and offers DC over-voltage and over-temperature protection, further enhancing its durability and safety.
To expand functionality, Xantrex has introduced a full-function remote panel that pairs with the TRUEcharge3 for enhanced monitoring and control. This remote panel provides several features not accessible on the onboard display, such as placing the charger into standby mode, adjusting the output current, and displaying the status of individual battery banks. The panel also enables parallel stacking, allowing users to connect two chargers for up to 2X the output, a significant advantage for more complex or demanding setups.
In line with U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) regulations, the TRUEcharge3 charger meets the latest energy efficiency standards. By adhering to these standards, the charger reduces energy waste during operation, ensuring compliance with U.S. federal requirements for battery chargers, and further affirming Xantrex’s commitment to sustainable energy solutions.
“With the introduction of the TRUEcharge3, Xantrex continues its tradition of delivering advanced, reliable, and efficient power solutions tailored for marine and mobile users,” said John Kalbfleisch, CEO of Xantrex. “We’re excited to bring this enhanced charger to the market, offering improved functionality, quiet operation, and a compact design that will meet the evolving needs of our customers.”
To further benefit users, Xantrex is offering an introductory price for TRUEcharge3. For the next two months, the charger will be available at the same price as the outgoing TRUEcharge2 model, making this an ideal time to upgrade. The product is available through Xantrex’s network of authorized distributors and dealers, and customers can find a local dealer through Find a Dealer link on the Xantrex website.
The TRUEcharge3 battery charger is available in 12V (20A, 40A, 60A) and 24V (10A, 20A, 30A) models, offering diverse options for various energy needs.
The TRUEcharge3 is now in stock and available for shipping.
