If you own a boat and are using non-Xantrex lithium batteries, you might wonder if the TRUEcharge3 charger would charge your batteries. The answer is a resounding yes! The TRUEcharge3 comes pre-configured with optimized settings for Xantrex lithium-ion batteries, so if you’re using those, you’re ready to go right out of the box. For non-Xantrex lithium battery bank owners, the custom lithium set points can be configured to match the specific requirements of your battery manufacturer.

To make this setup process even easier, we’ve teamed up with Kevin Conroy from Smith’s Marina in Annapolis for a video walkthrough. The main steps involve setting the Custom Battery Type and then adjusting the Absorb and Float Voltage levels. In Kevin’s video below, you’ll see just how simple it is to make these adjustments. Once you’ve activated “Custom Battery Type” mode, the LEDs on the charger will guide you through the settings.

To help you choose the right Absorb and Float Voltage settings, refer to the quick-reference image below. Each LED corresponds to a specific voltage level for both Absorb Mode and Float Mode, so you can easily match your settings to your battery manufacturer’s recommendations.
